Green hair is finished!

This was the color of my hair before I started the process. It was a very dark green, almost black in some places.

I wanted to try a lighter green color so I went and bought Ion Color Corrector from Sally's Beauty Supply. I had never used one before so I thought I'd give it a try. Needless to say, I think I will be sticking to my usual bleach. Much more predictable and doesn't smell like rotting grass. Although, It's not recommended to use color strippers on semi-permanent hair color I did it anyways, and got this:
It turned out to be a poopy green in some places, brown in others. Don't ask me why.
Now I've heard a lot of horror stories about people bleaching their hair right after using a color stripper, but I did it anyways. It turned the brown spots green and overall lightened it a bit, which I was somewhat happy with. I ultimately would have liked it a little lighter but I was just putting another green over it so I thought it would turn out fine.
This is after bleach-washing it for about 20 minutes.

It doesn't look drastically different in the picture but it definitely lightened it. It also damaged my hair a pretty good amount so I'll need to be conditioning it a lot.

After all the stripping and bleaching I applied a precolor treatment by Ion that is supposed to make your hair dye come out more evenly, which I recommend you use after stripping. Then I applied all my different shades of greens and blue-greens. Left them on for about an hour and came out with this:

For most of the green color I used Special Effects Iguana green. For the ends I mixed the iguana green with a bit of Punky Color Midnight Blue.

Overall I like the finished product. I might go over the Iguana Green one more time in a week or so to make it a bit more rich and even, but I thought it looked pretty good for how the stripping and bleaching went. After I rinsed out the color I applied an after color treatment to close my cuticles and lock in color.

So there you go! If you guys have any questions feel free to comment.

Also if you have any suggestions or pictures of what you think I should do next, send 'em to me!

Dying my hair tonight!

It should be a fun night. I'll post results and exactly what I did when I'm done :)

Introduction

Hey guys! My name is Katie and I dye my hair more than the average person should. I use mainly unnatural colors. I've been doing it for about 5 years so I figured I'd share my knowledge and results with others. Feel free to ask me any questions you have. :)
